February 16th, 2021 Adventure around MA recommendations #1

Good day folks, I hope everyone is having a fantastic Tuesday. Like a lot of the country at the moment, I am in midst of a storm or tail end of one. We are just getting the rain end of it so far. It is today, so that means it's time to talk travel. So we are not doing much of that over the past year, however, if you live in MA or surrounding states, you might enjoy some of these small hikes or walk-a-bouts.

Get exploring with these small hikes in Massachuttes

Great Island Trail - Wellfleet

This hike runs 3.9 or 8.8 miles round trip. You can bring along your doggo, as this is a dog-friendly hike as long as they're leashed. You can find this place near Wellfleet Harbor. If you are down the cape, this is a great place to check out. It is fairly easy to navigate unless you hit some areas with soft sand, or the tide is rising. Just plan accordingly to the tide. It is the longest hike on this list, however, it is so worth it as it offers stunning views.

Broadmore Wildlife Sanctuary- Natick

This wildlife retreat can be found along with the Charles and Indian Brook. I personally love this little spot, and honestly don't visit it enough. It is easy to navigate and is only 3 miles. There are around 150 different species of birds, which makes this a must-visit for bird watchers. Unfortunately, this is not a dog-friendly area, so keep your doggo at home for this one.

Braintree/ Holbrook Town Forest - Braintree/Holbrook

This is another hike that stands around the 3-mile mark. This spot offers great views for wildlife lovers, you almost always will see some sort of wildlife including deer which are high in the area. This runs adjacent to both Cranberry Brook and Cranberry pond. It is popular with locals of Braintree and Holbrook, I almost always see a car or two parked. Unfortunately, this doesn't have a lot of parking space. Navigation is fair, as long as you watch out for some rough trails ( rocks and roots). This is a dog-friendly area as well.

Powers Farm and Pond - Randolph

Power's Farm is located right near Randolph center. This is probably the shortest and most navigational on the list. This location offers pretty scenery and the best time to visit is in the summer, where you can run into all sorts of wildlife. Locals often fish in the pond and occasionally see a metal detector or two around. This area is about 22 acres and is also connected to the Randolph dog park. If you like to get off the beaten path like me, there are tons more to explore which makes this place a quiet place for treasure hunters.
